How do I save at spud! – Let me count the ways!
When people compare our prices with other grocery stores
they tend to think only about the sticker price. But with
spud! you save in many other less obvious ways, including:
¨ Avoided transportation costs – The cost of driving a
vehicle is about $0.45 per kilometer. The cost of
taking a bus is at least $1.75. When you get your
groceries delivered you avoid this cost. In surveys, our
customers indicate that they save $2 to $3 in
transportation costs on each spud! order.
¨ Fewer impulse purchases – When you shop online
you are less likely to make impulse purchases. Recent
studies show that people who shop at big box discount
retail stores end up paying more for their purchases
because they make so many extra impulse purchases.
¨ Standing order discounts – you get 5% off most
items you place on a recurring order.
¨ Rewards points – the more you spend the more
Rewards points you can earn towards cash discounts
on future orders.
¨ Specials –Save 10% or more on dozens of items
every week! Or save even more on case deals and
Super Deals (20%+ off).
¨ Save time – Shop online and avoid a shopping trip to
the store. What’s your time worth?
Considering all these factors, we think you’ll agree that
spud! is the most cost effective way to buy your groceries.
How we do our price checks
We check our prices regularly by visiting local stores. The prices shown are representative but may not be identical to the
store you visit as prices can differ between stores and some retailers do not adjust their prices following supplier increases
as quickly as others. Prices are compared for the exact same product (i.e. same brand, size and flavour). We do not
compare items on special or volume discounts. We try to ensure that the prices displayed above are representative and
accurate. However, it is always possible that an incorrect price may be quoted.
Please note: Some retailers heavily discount certain items to make themselves appear less expensive.
